The idea began as a simple question: if this house is for people to climb, then why not for rooms? By making rooms take their places on the wall rather than the floor, the familiar composition of house is fundamentally redefined.

Here, every room has its own altitude, with a unique view of the interior of the house. It is an analogy of what we experience when we climb a mountain. As we go up, these hanging volumes provide the space below, around, above, and of course inside, just like we feel the dynamic changes of surrounding spaces while rock climbing.
